Subject: Points calculations with updated infromation?
Hello fellas, i have a quick question.

I am planning to apply for Canadian skill worker immigration and currently have 65 points. However, i will graduate my MS program in about 8 months from now. and then i will have 5 extra points that will be more than 67 needed. My question is that, can i add my MS degree certificate later like any other police report , medical report paper works? Or i have to ahve 67 points right now when i apply?

it takes about 2 yrs minimum to make them a decision i heard, so any updated information in that period will effect the points?

Highly Appreciated for your thoughtful asnwers.

I think it is wise to wait until you have your full 67 points before you apply. the last thing you want to do is lose your $550 because you are short of points.

aakash,
you can file now. the IA will take 12 months, by then you will have your degree and can send it to them, but make sure you do get your degree by the time they assess it. if they dont have it, they will anyways send you a letter asking for it.

You better file the file right now. You can then updated when you graduate. Most of my friends have done that and all of them have landed already. I waited until i got Master degree and then applied. And guess what? I am still waiting for the PPR....

appy now and submit your M.Sc degree later.

No problem, I did the same thing and got 69 points.

serious doubt (in reply to: Points calculations with updated infromation?)
But the CIC operations manual says , you have to have points to qualify at the time application as well as at the time of assessment? the adding of points of Masters degree is useful when the CIC raises the point level . So at the IA time you will qaulify if they raise the points.

EDM, I´m not so sure that is correct.

Rules of the game are clear. Points are calculated "as-on" the date you file.

If you want to burn your $550 go ahead! CIC would love to collect money and send you a sorry note. As is the system is backed up.

Awesome! thanks guys for your kind reply. I guess most of here has experience about this. ok now, when they ask in the application that whats my highest degree earned to this date, i put bachelors now and then later add that with a letter stating that i have finished MS? or should i write MS and then when they ask for it and then i sumbit it?

which way should i take?

I am leaning towards apply right now given some of the encouraged words from you guys. however, i need to put the right information on the application. Please advise.

Thanks once again for everything.

Dont waste your money and other people's time (in reply to: Points calculations with updated infromation?)
AAkash,
You are the type of A.. holes who make the whole immigration system a mess. You havenot got MS . Then how can you put that you have MS . Everything you file should be honest .You seems to forget your basic integrity in the rush to file the form. You need to provide proof for MS if you have one. I have read stories that they will accept the application prima facia and then will send you rejection letter stating you have less points. If you cant wait till you complete your MS go for it now and forget your money. If you are that rich give that money some tsunami victim or earth quake victim.

Aakash,

Some freaks dont know how to answer politely. I guess they dont know the basic objective of forum, i.e. to give the information and not remarks. So dont listen to them!!

Its quite obvious that you dont give any false info. Write B.Sc. degree on ur application. As I said previously make sure that u have 65 points and all supportive docs for those. As you get the credentials in future step by step, send the supportive docs for them.

Just curious, r u same guy having bad credit history?? There is a post in this forum regarding that.
