I am illegal in US and am being sponsered by my husband in Toronto.I have to get my background check by US police. How will I do it.

You will send your background check and hope that you dont get deported and somehow your results are forwarded to CIC buffalo which does not find out you have no status in the USA.
An attorney would be your best bet right now.

they will check only crime records not immigration!

I beleive your immigration status has nothing to do with criminal records. But to make it sure, there is no harm in getting a consultation from an immigration lawyer. It will cost you around $100.00 to get consultation and if you do it online its even cheaper. Like visapro.com is offering online consulation for only $39.00. Good Luck

It is a crime to be in a country illegally. Applying for immigration to one country when you have no regard for the immigration laws of another does not look very good. You do need to send copies of your passport and visas to CIC so I am not sure how they will not know.
