Subject: Medical for Tourist Visa
  Dear All,

Can you please help me. My father had applied for visitor visa to Canada from Banglore. He got a letter saying his medical needs to be done. They want his medical report from there specific doctors. Is this a requirement for the Visitor Visa ? Will it pose any problems in getting the VISA as my father is a heart patient, has BP and Diabetes. Any ideas ??? How long does it take for the processing ??

Thanking you in advance,
Reshma

Reshma,

If your dad is getting visitor´s visa for more than 6 months, he has to go through medical exam. OR if he has major health problems then he has to again, no matter how long is the visa. If he has strong reason to visit canada, then I dont think he will be rejected. If you are in Canada, did u send him invitation letter?

Visitors visa is approved in one day if he goes in person..but if he is using new courier services, then more than one week.

I hope this helps.

Sandeep

Hi Sandeep,

Thank you very much for your response. My father had applied VISA for less than six months. My mother is already here. So his plan was to come down, stay here for 5 weeks and go back with my mother.

I am a citizen here and had sent him an invitation letter. So basically he is just coming here for a visit. In B´lore they have VFS office. SO he submitted his application there. Usually they pick up the passport in 2-3 working days.

Thanks again

All life threatening health problems are called major ones. That is what I read somewhere on canada gov website. I dont remember the name of that website.

I hope till date ur dad must have got his visa!
