Subject: Is my immigration still valid
  hi there.

My parens and my family moved to canada in 1996, where i lived for aproximately years. We moved to canada through self-emplyed/business route. After 3 years my parents decided to move back to the UK. I stayed for a further 6 months until i started to go back and forward to and from uk and canada.

Is my immigration still valid for me to apply for permanent citizenship in canada or would i need to apply again on my own.

Can anyone advise me ? - many thanks for your time !

let me understand this by asking some questions.
did you land as permanent residents with your family back in ´96?

To maintain your Canadian residency, you must spend 2 years out of 5 in Canada. In the past 5 years, how long have you had residence in Canada?

If the answer is less than 2 - you have lost your PR status and must reapply.

Citizenship is a totally different set of criteria. You have to sort out the residency issue first.
