Any updates on your side. last week i received a response email from CIC

"Please be advised that your application is in process, however we are unable to provide an exact date when a final decision will be made.

Once a decision on an application has been made, you will receive a letter requesting that your passport be forwarded to this office for visa issuance. "

dont know what to do, planning to get caips after waiting for 2 more weeks

You should post your timeline to give better picture of your case. At this situation , there is nothing u can do but to wait since they have already responded to your e-mail. Dont send them any more e-mails to them. Getting CAIPS is not a bad idea but in thi situation even CAIPS dont provide much information. Good Luck

wow...did they send inquiry to local police station. How do u know that? Thats a new thing. You know i beleive you are stuck with background check. If you have lived in different countries then its gonna take a while. Visa officer told me during my interview that they usually complete background checks within 6 months but it may take well over a year in some cases. It depends the speed of information they receive from visa post of the coutries where u have lived. But dont worry, atleast you have the confirmation that you have qualified for the PR. Its just a matter of few more days or probably months. But i would gaian advice you NOT to send them any e-mail for atleast a month. If you want to get CAIPS, its up to you otherwise i dont think CAIPS is any help in this situation. It will a waste of money. Just wait and pray. Good Luck

forgot to answer ur question.

ours is a small place in india and my uncle works for the police department. he told me that some one was asking about our details. so i thought it might be background check.

how do you know they sent inquiry to the local Police station? What did they ask more than information from Police/FBI Certificate?

Why are you tensed, seems like your interview has been waived and you are insisting for an interview. Thats strange. I would suggest to wait , wait and wait. there is nothing else u can do my friend. Times passes really fast, beleive me, just keep urself busy and u will be all set.
