Subject: Medical Exam Taken but New Additional Dependent
My family & I already had the medical exam on the last quarter of 2005 & I´m assuming by now that the DMP had already mailed the results to Ottawa. I also had a newborn baby last year (September 2005). I informed the Canadian Embassy about this & they sent to me some forms to fill out & requested some documents to be submitted; these forms & documents were already sent to the embassy last month (January 2006).

Will this hamper the processing of my application & will my newborn baby (well actually, he´s now 4 months old) still undergo the medical exam?

Thanks in advance for those who could relate or impart some thoughts on this.

God Bless!

You did your medicals in last quarter of 2005 and your baby was born in the last quarter of 2005 as well. I am assuming that your baby was already born when you did your medicals because they dont do X-Rays on pregnant woman. Am i right? If your baby was already born at the time of your medicals then you were suppose to wait for the medical forms of your baby which they send to you once you inform them of an addition in your family and send them her passport, birth certificate and photographs.
If you have sent them these things as you said in your post then you will receive the medical forms for her and instructions to comply very soon. Your baby will undergo only for a physical check up, no x-rays, no blood test etc. I am sure you will be asked to go to same Doctor who did your medicals. This process will cause a possible delay in the processing of your application because of not doing medicals together. I am afraid that they might ask all of you to do your medicals again. But i am hope this wont happen. Good Luck

Thanks a lot for your reply, Steve. You´re right, my wife already gave birth when she had her x-ray.

I´m hoping also that it would only be my newborn baby who will undergo the physical check-up bec. it´s expensive if my whole family will be going through the medical exams again. Were there instances that you know of or heard that only the additional dependent took the medical exam & not the whole family. Oh well, you can only hope & pray for the best.

By the way, did you have the same experience?

No, I did not. It is still being processed in the Philippines as most of their correspondences to me are coming from Manila, Philippines. BTW, I am not a citizen or Green Card holder here in the US; I am on H1B visa (non-immigrant worker).

Well...u could have cut the time half if the file was transferred from Manila to USA. Anyways now u are almost done so its useless to discuss this. Just wait for the medical forms of your kid and read their instructions carefully before sending any documents to them. Because one mistake costs lots of delay in the process. Anyways i lived in Philippines for 5 years and completeed my Masters and Bachelors in Business Administration from Manila Philippines. You have a beuatiful country and beautiful people. Thanks and Good Luck.
