Subject: Fingerprints Frustration in USA

Can anybody advise me? I called my local police station, they told me that I need to obtain the card and they can do my fingerprints. I obtained the fingerprint card form FBI. Now when I call them, they tell me that they do not do any fingerprinting for Canadian Immigration and that I have to do it in Canadian Embassy.
I am tired of communicating with them. What if I just tell them that I need it for some other purpose so I can just get damn fingerprints. It seem like very simple operation but it sucks all nerves from me.

Any advises will be appreciated.

Check internet or yellow pages for private fingerprinting agencies. They have the FBI card and will take your finger prints. It can cost you between $15 to $30 per person.

I had a very similar experience with the police department regarding finger printing so I went to a private place. But a couple of weeks later my friend approached them and they did his fingerprinting for FBI and did not even ask for the FBI card(they had it!). So it all depends on their mood.

I would like to share my experience. I was also directed by the the Canandian embassy to obtain FBI clearance. Friends told me that i need an FBI fringerprint card. When I asked the American embassy for FBI fingerprint card for Canadian immigration purposes, they advised me to just have my fingerprint done using my country´s National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) fingerprint form and sent the same to the FBI office for verification, they even gave me where that office is in West Viriginia (it matched with what I already have). So I sent the form to FBI with my fingerprint. I followed up after two weeks and they said they received my request and advised that it may take a little long to process due to high volume of requests. I was expecting to be told that they would return the form because fignerprint was not done on FBI´s form, but they didn´t. So I guess fingerpringting need not be on FBI form as previously advised to me by the American embassy. BTW, I´m here in Manila.
