for the background check do they check to find out an applicant marital status. for example i was maried and got divorced after i apply. do they go through that to see if i am still maried. thank you

They will require you to disclose this information in your application and it is your responsibility to provde evidence of your divorce...if they find it later and you didn´t disclose it, it will likely cause problems.

they might not check on that but later on when they found out you might be in trouble, you should inform them asap of any change in marital status.
