Subject: Passport issues/questions?? |

I have to send my passport to New Delhi for stamping. Iam based in the US now I know its illegal to send Indian passport by mail overseas.
#The option I have is to send it through a friend who is travelling with a authorization letter and copy of the passport request. Is that okay?
#The Canadian High Commission will not send the passport overseas too, so i will have to give my home address. Would I have to be present to recieve it? For those who recieved their passports in the US or elsewhere did they have delivery confirmation on it?
I know these questions seem strange but the cost of travelling to India and US visa issues are preventing me from going to India.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I think this is the best option for you but i wonder how are you gonna get your passports back......you must provide your friend´s address to get the passports back and he can bring them to you. You dont have to be there because you r not picking the passports in person. Just submitt a return envelope along with your passports and they will send them to the address you are going to provide them....GOOD LUCK

(in reply to: Passport issues/questions??) Thank you Steve for the great information. I will send a return envelope with the friends address.
So is it alright to have a different name on the return address?
