well... they decided not to agree. There are still 90,000 workers that are without a contract. From the news tonight, everything will remain in limbo, (everyone is currently back at work) until mid December when the workers will vote on the latest government offer.

What this means for you and me... our worlds are still moving forward at their usual snails pace. We will not likely see any further job action until mid-December - if at all. I will take it upon myself to make sure I keep all of you up to date with any information that might affect our applications. No news should be considered good news. For now, we can remain hopeful and remember that this process is one of the great things about Canada - workers rights! There is a corny little song out there somewhere that says ´don´t worry, be happy´.

Sharon, thanks for the update but i dont quite follow. Does that mean the PR immigration processing will continue or will be delayed again. The CIC received my PR application in Jan 2004 and has been processing since Jan 31,2004. I have received my AOR in Feb 2nd week, sent my IELTS score and now just waiting for a response for medical papers. I am living in the US for the past 7 years and i believe my case is in buffalo. Do you think i could get a response from them anytime? Where do you get the news update if you dont mind me asking. Thanks once again Sharon.

www.canada.com often has news reports about the labour dispute. This is a good website if you want to learn a little bit about current events in your new country. I really think your file is progressing normally without disruption.
