Subject: Regarding applying for immigration
  Hi there,

My name is Akash. I did my post graduate diploma in networking from a college in Toronto.

I have joined in a undergraduate program as I was not eligible for doing masters due to my 3 year degree.

I had prior work experience in India as Web developer.
I did two year part time as website developer and one year full time again as website developer.

Now I hav joined the undergraduate program at Queens university but dint do anything for 1 and half year because of my ill health.

Now based on my background is it advisable for me to apply for immigration.

I will take IELTS.

Will I get adapatability points for those two years in which I did nothing?

Please let me know as early as possible

Thankyou,
Akash.

Aakash,

If u live for 2 yrs in Canada, then u get adaptability points. I would suggest after getting 2 yrs full time exp u apply for immigration. Again u dont have Master´s degree. SO I dont think u will get more than 60 points.

Technically
1) You have Bachelors,
2) You have some years of experience,
3) You have the age factor in your favor,
4) You will most likely qualify for language,
5) The points you may have got for MS; may be compensated with the years in Canada.

However what may not be going for you:

1) You have practically done nothing for 1 and 1/2 years. You saif ill health - did you take local help in medical? What ill health? Did it cost the tax-payers a lot?
2) Do you have settlement funds?
3) Can you get a job while you wait on PR?

I guess you need to sit down and check on the points list given on CIC web-site to see how much you are going to score?

If you are short 2-3 points it OK and worth the time, else wait till you finish you MS.

It is not ok, if you are short by 2-3 points. you are likely to get reject if you do not meet 67 points minimum.

Hey Akash
Well, Personally I think you should apply. I used a lawyer, and he was able to get me pr as soon as I finished my first diploma course. i did a diploma as I did not want to spent tens of thousands on university fees. Well It worked for me, i dunno bout you. I wont publish his number since i get a 500 buck referral fee if you use him thru me :p but he guarantees his work and on his contract he signs that if it doesnt go thru, you get 100% refund.
