Subject: Finally!
My husband finally got his residence documents today from the Canadian High Commission. When he went, they told him that I was inquiring too much and that it "get to them". WTF!!!

I e-mailed them back and copied the minister of immigration here and the MP office as well.

I told them they should keep in mind that they work for me, the Canadian citizen. I put them in office and I pay my fair share of taxes.

Basically, I told them they´re out of place to make comments and they should just do their job.

Why do they think they´re doing me a favor? Do they even know how they got there? It´s because of Canadians!!

He has the Visa already, they can´t take it back.

Anyway, just standing up for my rights. They´re not doing me any favors. I have to pay for everything.

well done so excited, I totally agree with you. I am soooo fed up with them thinking that they are better than us, Canadians did put them where they are and quite easily could put them on the scrap heap..........again well done for having the balls to say something.

Hate to say this, but you don´t have any rights as such (e.g. you can´t sue them if they´re taking a long time processing your case). You´re lucky you complained afterwards, it is at the discretion of the officer whether they give your husband the visa or not. They can always claim they don´t think it´s a real relationship or do other things to hinder your case. Yes, you pay taxes, but they ARE doing their job by processing the PR in the first place. You inquiring about the case so much is bound to hinder them, so just let them get on with it!

i agree with mklmkl....they have the power to refuse the visa for any reason and they r not bound to explain it to you......and if they are kind enough to not refuse then by any mean they can put your file in their drawer and keep it for 10 years and u cant do any thing....so you must say thanks to GOD......

Well...I not that stupid to tell them off while they are processing the application. He already got his stuff, which is why I got mouthy!

I had my MP in on the matter. Everytime they took really long with something, the MP would question it. They can´t put the file away for 10 years. They really don´t hold that power you people seem to think they have. You can question them and get your MPs and MPPs involved.

Yes, if they refuse me, they HAVE to explain to me why, and I have the option to appeal.

mklmkl, the 1525.00 I pay to process my application alone entitles me to answers to any question I have, and I told them so. They are not doing anything for me for free. I am paying for their service.

Anyway, it might or might not make a difference, but I am happy I did not just sit back and accept what these people are doing and just brush it off as they are doing thier job. I feel better cause I said something about it. To each his own.

And BTW: My constant questioning made them give it to him earlier, and they did admit that. So, I have no regrets about anything I did.
