Good for you, Detroit is all but fast that is why they transferred your application to Los Angeles. I guess you will receive your IA within 4-8 weeks.

Brian got IA after a week i guess
My file was transferred on 30th Jan 2006 to LA
No news after that. I have found many (atleast 4)
in similar boat waiting to hear from LA

My case was transfered to Detroit.
My timeline is
Jan. 18,2005, Apply
Mar. 18,2005, file number
Jan. 31,2006, transfered to Detroit
Brian said Detroit is all but fast. Hope I can have a little bit more luck.

NY is rocking now, I received the IA in a week, and I have others who got it within 2 weeks , so if your application is in NY ...things will move very fast and in most cases they are waiving interview..

I filed my application in jan 2005
Received IA in march 2005
Transferred letter in feb 2006
My case had been transferred from buffalo to detroit. Initially i panicked, then i wrote to both buffalo and detroit, but detroit replied in two days, stating that they had received my package and will be assessing it in FOUR WEEKS time. They are doing the transfer to expedite the immigration process. So don´t worry guys!!!Detroit , New york, or LA its all the same!
