Subject: Expedite the sponsorship process |
|
|
|
I have submitted a sponsorship for my mother in June of last year.
I was hoping that she arrives to Canada when I retun back to work so that she stays with my baby (I´m on maternity leave since Sept last year.) According to CIC´s sponsorship status page the sponsorship is not even processed here in Canada yet. Is there a way to expedite the sponsorship?
Thanks.

Expedited processing (in reply to: Expedite the sponsorship process) Hi Tasha.
There really is no way to expedite processing, unfortunately. However, you can avoid delays in processing by making certain that the application package you originally submit is accurate and complete (I know that it is too late for you, but I am mentioning it for all others who will read this).
Furthermore, I typically advise my clients on how to anticipate the visa officers predictable requirements, which is also a way to avoid delays (e.g. knowing approximately when the officer will be asking for your police certificates allows the applicant to apply for and obtain these documents in advance). Depending on what stage of processing your application is at, there may be things you can do to avoid further delays.
I recommend that you review chapter 1, 2, and 15 of the Overseas Processing Manual (see http://www.cic.gc.ca/manuals-guides/english/op/index.html for direct links).
Good luck.
Sincerely,
