| Subject: Worker Visa renewal from within Canada |

Hi
I just got the approval of the renewal of my work permit for another year. I need to get the worker visa renewd in my passport.
Could anyone give me any suggestions on how do go about this. Can it be done within Canada? Does one have to go to the US personally to get this done or one could mail it to a Canadian Consulate in the US. Timelines as well.
Any help will be really appriciated.

no, mail it to any Canadian consulate general in U.S.
but you have to mail your passport away. If you do not need to leave Canada, you do not have to apply for visitor visa. And depends on certain countries, you might not need that at all.

You can get it at US- canada border, say windsor

If you are currently in Canada, send your application to Canada. I think its called the application to extend your stay in Canada and send them all the required documents. It takes about 28 to 45 days. I did this twice in the last year for my post-graduate work permit.

No, you cannot get a visa IN Canada. You have to send it to a Canadian Consulate outside of Canada. Vegreville, AB would deal with the extension of your status, but could NOT issue you a visa.
