Subject: overstay consequences
  Hi all,
Thank you for being here - it is comforting to know that others are going through what I am going through.

I overstayed in the UK by 3 years but had no trouble with the law. According to the immigration guide, police clearence should not be provided for certain countries until asked and the UK is one of them. I´m back in my home country now and I´m wondering if the fact that I overstayed in another country will be a big problem. Does anyone have any experience with this?

hi there,
I don?t have any advice for you, i just want to let you know there is someone else going through the same thing.
I went to USA and overstayed for about 4 years, while being there, I met this guy from Canada, we fell in love and move together, his work visa expired and we decided he would go back to Canada and me to my country and apply for immigration as a conjugal partner, then he came to visit and propose. now we are married and havent started on the process, ??ve been trying to find out how to get the police certificate and wondering how this overstay in USA is going to affect my immigration case.
Good luck for you, and keep me posted. if you want to e-mail me you can do it at paularestrepoe@yahoo.com

I am indicating the dates that I was in the country. Not specifically waving a red flag though and saying that it was an overstay. I think that through their background check, they might see this themselves.
