Subject: Should I file now or later
Can my husband file my sponsorship application even we haven´t received the police certificate from Ottawa yet? Can we just submit receipt or any proof that I have done finger printing and I´m just waiting for the certificate. Can I just submit this certificate later or can I attached letter stating police certificate to follow. The sgt from commissinaires told me it would take 150days before I can receive my police certificate and I just dont want to waste time. Please advise thanks.

Yes, file now and explain it will be forwarded later (RCMP sends it straight to CIC anyway, you wouldn´t send it).

Look, you asked, and I told you what worked for me. I didn´t send off RCMP fingerprints or any envelope, I was told they would be automatically forwarded to Ottawa so I included a note saying, "You´ll get fingerprints from the RCMP when they´re done but I didn´t want to wait 150 days to attach it with my application". So I don´t know how come he said that, but don´t ask a question and then answer it yourself!

Okay, thanks and sorry. But it´s typical of people involved in immigration (sgts., CIC etc) to tell different stories. I guess it all depends where you are and who you get taking your fingerprints. I´m sure your sgt had his orders and the people who took my prints have theirs and probably neither is wrong and both are accepted, so as long as CIC get the fingerprints eventually, all is cool. :-)

I don´t know what people would do without internet forums like these - a bit worrying that so many people need to use them, maybe that says something about CIC! So I´m glad we can help in any way.
