I just want to update everybody with my timeline:
Applied: Jan 2004
AOR: Feb 9, 2004
IA: October 19, 2004 (Dated Sept 24, 2004).
According to IA the interview is waived. Asked for medical and few docs.

What is an IA? And can you tell us if you are in the US on a legal permit? I´m just wondering if staying after visa expired will affect the application.

IA means Initial Assesment. I work and live in US on H-1 visa.

congrats....I applied from Islamabad in Jan 2002, almost done and got my visa now...interview waived .planning to move in NOV ...Do I need to have a work permit for landing a job there? I am a research scientist.
