Subject: how efficient is CIC with change of address |

we sent in some documents requests by CIC together with a change of address about 5 weeks ago.(Paris) Any experience out there how long it takes them to put new information into the system? We have discovered that the new tenants in the old address are totally irresponsible with the mail. Who knows if there might be a CIC letter floating out there somewhere.

(in reply to: how efficient is CIC with change of address) Sharon,
I would formally request the postal service to re-direct all mail send to the "old: address to the "new" address. Even if you have to pay an extra fee for this service to be rendered, it is worth it. Neighbors or new tenants in the previous residence are not, in any way, responsible for making sure the mail gets redirected, the postal service is responsible when a formal request has been submitted.

Perhaps fax the Paris office (in reply to: how efficient is CIC with change of address) If I were you, I´d fax the Paris office to confirm that the change was made. Or else, just call the number here in Canada as they may now have it on record. I called them today and they were able to give me information on my file. But i had to provide my address to them first (among other security confirmation things).

re-directed mail (in reply to: how efficient is CIC with change of address) we are talking North Africa, so I am pretty sure that re-direct service is not offered. I think our best chance is to confirm with Paris. Let´s hope they reply.

(in reply to: how efficient is CIC with change of address) I changed address after lost AOR letter. I just faxed them and after 2 weeks I found my new address on their web site updated.
Best of luck
