I am an Australian citizen who is in Canada on a Working Holiday Permit (http://www.whpcanada.org.au/). This permit expires on June 14 of this year. This is a non-specific permit that means I can work for any employer in canada legally...and do not, at any time, need a job offer or to deal with HRSDC.
I applied for permanent residency a few weeks ago, which means I will probably not get first stage approval until around October.
I need to be able to work legally between June 14 and around October when I get first stage approval. Is there any way I can be issued a permit/visa that will allow me to have legal status to work continuously...without having a job offer, or a prospective employer?

(in reply to: Working in Canada while awaiting PR approval) You´ve posted elsewhere and gotten your response, but the answer is still no, sorry. You need HRSDC (almost impossible to get, esp. on a WHM visa) and if not, you have to wait until you get AIP.
