| Subject: PR card. can I land, return T US & wait for PRCar? |
Could I land and submit the approval documents to the Port of entrance, a Canadian address and return to the US the same day and wait for the PR Card in the US where I have a job and could not leave now?

CIC will send the card to a Canadian addess.
you cannot reenter canada without the card as a PR (you can but its complicated).
if you know someone whose addrss you can give and they will mail it to you, that is great.

just a clarification -- you do not need a PR card to enter Canada in a private vehicle -- such as a car. You only need it if you enter Canada via commercial transportation -- train, plane, bus, ferry, etc.

thank you guys.
the question is if I can just go through the port of entrance, hand in the paper works with an address of a friend of mine in Canada who will receiving the PR card and send to me by mail.
Also, can I, after done with the processes at the port of entrance, turn around immedietly back to the US?

I would suggest, stay in canada for atleast 2-3 days

Hi Allen,
Yes, you can. You can go to the Canadian border with your passport, COPR, Goods to follow list and return the very next minute if thats what you want. However, as someone suggested above, its better if you stay there for a day, sign up for the SIN card and then come back.
Remember, if you are going by car and intend to return to the US, use a rental car and not your own car. If you land with your own car, you have a lot of formalities to complete for your car in a short duration in Canada. Take your car with you when you are finally going there to settle down. However, do include your car in the Goods to follow list along with other things you intend to bring with yourself when you finally come for good in Canada.
