JJ,

To make you feel better, here is my timeline:

Applied Feb 04
AOR Mar 04
IA Nov 04 (no interview)
Med/Document Feb 05

Background still checking.

I guess your background checking must be still going on. This is what they are waiting.

Dear JJ,

My file was transferred to Detroit 6 months after IA..yours is really unusual.

Have you tried emailing Detroit? here´s their email address:

detroit-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca

First inquire if your file has been transferred and mention the date of your last letter from CIC Buffalo..

You may also ask advise on how to move forward with your case etc. Please try to avoid having a ´mad´ tone in your email...try to be polite as much as you can.

Here is the link on Detroit´s other information.

http://www.dfait-maeci.gc.ca/can-am/detroit/rightnav/address_hours-en.asp

good luck.
