hi. i have appl at buffalo for sw. i am an in canada applicant who did a post grad dipl prog from a community college and then worked for eight months(full time) on a valid work permit. now i am doubting if i qualify for the 5 adaptibility points as i have just worked for 8 months. however my consultant says i will get the pts as anything over 6 months will be treated as 1 year. he also says that they cannot give zero for your eight month exp . i am in canada since aug 2003. can you tell me if i would get the pts as i am only scoring 63 without them. kindly give a fair opinion.

There was a posting last week about someone rejected for 9 months experience. 1 year is minimum, NO EXCEPTIONS. In addition to that one year must be post graduate means after atleast Bachelors degree.

sounds like you have post-graduated work permit like me,
how long is that valid? one--two years?
you can get 15 points, 10 from arrange employment,
5 from adapbility. (arrange employment)

my post grad work permit has already expired . it was for a duration of 8 months. right now i am enrolled in another post grad course. do i get 5 pts for the 8 month post grad work permit

yes you should be able to bagg that points .. no worries .., if u had prev exp back in india .. and this adaptability points will be awarded as i know

For adaptabiluty, you need 1 year of fulltime work experience, or at least 2 years of fulltime study, or family relationship with someone who is a Canadian citizen or OR, or for arranged employment.
This is the rule, and usually the officers follow the guidelines according to the rules.
