Subject: RCMP police clearance
Hi folks, has anyone from Mexico required to get a RCMP police clearance sudmitedd this after having applied for PR? I understand that you are supose to send it together with all the forms when you first apply, has any one done it the other way around? application first, RCMP clearance later? Thanks a lot for any input.

RCMP clearance is only for in-Canada applicants.
It is sent to applicants in Canada who must provide fingerprints to local city police who then forward them to RCMP, and then RCMP provides clearance to the Canadian Visa office processing the application.

For mexico, you might need a certificate from mexican police or something. If you were in Canada before and have left it, then the visa office will just do your background check in Canada and ask for mexican police certificate from you.

You have to get a police certificate from every country where you´ve lived for 6 months or longer, next month will be 6 months since I arrived to Alberta, as you said I´ll have to get the one from Mexico but not until the embassy asks me to do so. Thanks anyway.
