Subject: Canadian immigration applied in March, 2005
I just found that my previous company was bankrupt. Now the company has nothing but the name, and all the contact information provided in the reference is useless. The manager who gave me the reference for immigration found his own company.
So what should I do? Should I inform Detroit about that? How to say? Should I give the new company name and contact information to them?

Please help! thanks a lot

Since there is no way to contact the previous company, should I give the new contact information of the manager?

Since you applied back in March 2005, and most likely have already received AOR, no need to complicate things. It´s a PAST employer. You´ve already given accurate info about the company you once worked for. Unless CIC asks you for further contact info, why rock the boat? This is not your current employer right? if they want this new info, (eg while doing background checks) they will ask for it.

No,it´s not my current job. I am worried about background check if I don´t change the contact information of the company. How can I know whether they will carry out background for my case.

IDO is right. Better keep silent about the past unless they ask for it. Even if they check - they will found atleat its previous real existence. I know one of my known person had similar situation - never be asked about that past- now is living in Toronto. Don´t worry. You will be OK.

Stay quiet man, if they have any questions let them get back to you. If I were you, would never inform them unless asked.

Thank you all. But I made a phone call to the embassy and asked about that. They told me to update the contact information. Now, I am totally lost. What should I do?
