Subject: Get work Visa to Canada in the USA |

I live in hte United States, on my recent visit to Canadas immigration office they told me I needed to apply at the US Embassy nearest where I live in the US to get one. Thing is...my mom was a naturalized citizen, but it was so long ago she has to fill out a form to do a search for her records. They said once I have done that then I can just apply for residency. I really don´t want to wait that long for them to do the search then apply for my residency. I thought it easier to get a work permit, go up there, work, live until all that goes through? Any advice would be greatful. Also, all of our embassy here is booked in Nebraska, I can just e-file the form I need to apply for my work Visa into Canada, but I simply cannot find whihc specific form I am needing to do so.
