| Subject: Is it possible to get Visa 3 months after IA? |

Hello guys,
I wonder whether it would be possible to get the visa stamp 2-3 months after the IA, since nowadays, individual embassies are handling the process. So, maybe once the medicals are received and reviewed in Ottawa, the rest can take a few weeks.
What do you think?

you would have to prove prove prove that you are not intending to stick around Canada to wait out the balance of your application process. How you do that will drastically improve your chances.

Forget it man, you cannot get you visa stamp within the period you are enquiring. Just go through the timelines of other people and that will give you an idea. Your file will be opened to assess your medicals only after a certain number of days stated in the letter given for the medical, normally 60, which is already two months. It is after you pass the medical test that you may be requested to send payment and also passport before a certain date and that could take an extra two months given that no security/background checks are supposed to be conducted, if so then you can look at 6 - 9 months for the security/background checks. So 2 - 3 months after IA is just not possible, unless intervention from Harper

it is possible though rare, the usual wait for your medicals to be received by the visa office processing your applicatoin is a lone 2-3 months, after that it may be quick (1-2 monhts) or slow (> 1 year) depending on your background checks.

and I got Paspport request 9 Feb 2006
