Hi everyone,
I think immigration must love me. Every time I´ve emailed Detroit, they replied within a day. I emailed them yesterday to ask when I would be getting my IA, and they replied today saying that it had been assessed on Feb 27th and I would be hearing from them soon.
My timeline:
Applied to Buffalo mid-Mar 2005
AOR Mar 29, 2005
IELTS request Aug 2005 (sent to Buffalo in Nov 2005)
Did RCMP on my own in July 2005 (reached in Nov 2005)
Joy (Bangladeshi citizen working in Canada with postgraduate work permit holder)

Sure Sagar. I´m sure you´ll be getting your IA soon too.
Here it is:
"I applied for my permanent residency to Canada in February 2005, and received the file number dated March-29-2005. I was recently informed by the Canadian Consulate General in Buffalo, NY through email that my file has been transferred to your consulate in Detroit, but I still have not received a transfer letter nor an initial assessment. It would be great if you could let me know if the immigration officer will be sending my initial assessment soon, since it has been almost 1 year since I applied. Thank you for your help with this matter and have a great day."
