Subject: Allowing person to eneter Canada if marrying
Just reading several posts below and I am getting this idea:

If there is a couple that decided to get married then the person who lives outside Canada should be allowed entrance if sponosored by person who lives in Canada. This (marriage) must happen for example within 4 months after arrival. If it doesn´t then person must leave the country and should not be allowed to enter Canada again. Also person who gave sponsorship would not have a right to sponsor again.

This way only those who are seriously thinking about getting married would not be going through pain as they do now. Being seperated during the process or not being able to enter Canada as a visitor.

What do you guys think about passing this law?

Excellent!!!

However, I think that under the current immigration law it is also possible to sponsor fiance, under certain conditions. In other words, your proposal might already be in practice!

What I would propose is the following

For those sponsored spouses who comply with this 3 conditions:

1. Their application is being processed

2. Are currently residing overseas

3. Require visitor visa to enter Canada

CIC should allow them to apply for a SINGLE ENTRY visitor´s visa, which wuld give them the option of waiting for the case processing to be finished while they are IN CANADA with the loved one! In that way, the sponsor and the applicant (spouses) do not have to go through the separation.

Under the current system, for example sponsored spouses who are US citizens, because they do not require visitor visa to enter Canada, can visit their sponsor partner in Canada, whenever they please, just by showing their passport.

Of course, if the application for PR is denied, then the sponsored spouse MUST LEAVE CANADA.

However, seldom are spouse applications rejected...

One more condition for issuing the SINGLE ENTRY VISITOR visa would be that the sponsored spouse has received their AOR.

Let´s pass this law so I can go and see my wife and son!!!!!!!

I would vote for your law... but... (in reply to: Allowing person to eneter Canada if marrying)
This situation would make my life very happy too. There used to be a fiance visa. I think they stopped it in 2002 You had 90 days after arrival to marry, or the visitor had to go home. I think there was big problems with this because people were just diappearing into the woodwork and not getting married. The US still has this kind of visa. I think it is very hard to deport someone once they have arrived so they want us to do everything without the spouse/fiance being on Canadian soil. That is how I understand it.
