Subject: Minimum income for Sponsor
Hi Everyone I am new to this. I am finding the process of Immigration very daunting. I am disabled have a disability pension from Australia. My question is this............I read there is no minimum requirement for income from a spouse but I am worried my spouses income is too low he is currently on CPP which is $476 a month we live perfectly well because I also have my Pension from Australa. Together we are fine he alone would not be. He is also entitled to ODSP (ontario disability support pension) but cannot apply till I have my immigration application in process. Our income then would be more. If I put a letter with his sponsorship application stating this as well as what our combined income is would they even take it into consideration. I do not have extra funds to hire a lawyer I am doing this application with the help of a Social Worker.

Any ideas??

Thanks

There´s no mimimum income for a sponsor, he just can´t be on social assistance so keep him off it and don´t worry about the rest!

Has anyone actually sponsored on a very low income and been approved.........or had their spouses income counted (in reply to: Minimum income for Sponsor)
Hi Again

I am still struggling with this i know it says no min income for spouses but my Husbands income is only around $6,000 a year. I am on an Australian Disability pension and togehter it is about $15,000. I was wondering if anyone has been in my same situation or knows anyone who has. We live fine have no problems buying food paying bills and we get no social assistance.

Would appreciate any one with any knowledge commenting.

Thanks

income to sponsor (in reply to: Minimum income for Sponsor)
I am on social security disability make $950 a month I live with my older son 20 his income about %18000 a year my 16 old son lives with me he draw income from my social security disability is there a way we can sponsor an immigrent by putting togeather family income to meet the financial guide lines for sponsor ship, since no ones income alone meets 125% of poverty level.
