We got married in INDIA but forgot to get marraige certificate and now we are back. I´m from US and my wife is from Canada. My wife want´t to apply for PR(canada) through me but they need marriage certificate. how do i get marriage certificate either in Canada or US - that can be recongized in either countries for PR.
any help is much appreciated?
Can we get marriage certificate from INDIA without going there? any thoughts or ideas on this?

you have to be present in india to obtain the marriage certificate...unless you bride someone there to get one made for you..

Rules have been made tough in India now. The courts cannot issue a marriage certificate or police certificate without being physically present infront of the magistrate. So getting these certificates is not a easy task anymore.

Though i am not sure ... just a thought why don´t you guys do court marriage at your place of stay and can also tell the CIC what you did.... Will that make any difference legally? I guess this is suffice the need for a certificate.
