| Subject: IELTS - whats a good score ? |
What score do you need to ensure you get maximum points for English language proficiency in your Skilled Worker application. I have a pretty tight case ( I had 67 points as per my own assessment)!

You need an overall band score ranging from 7-9 (I think).

is there a benchmark for maximum marks ... i am sure there should be one mark such as an overall band of 8 for them to award the maximum number of points...
any ideas ?

That´s what I meant...to be able to get the maximum English Language Proficiency points (16), you have to get an overall band score of 7, 8 or 9 in the IELTS test.

The overall bandwidth doesn´t play any role in your english points. individuals does. You have to score 7.0 or above in each section to get 4 x 4 = 16 pts. If you score 9 in listening, writing and spoken but score 6 in reading, you´ll loose 2 pts even though your overall bandwidth is 8!

I have get following points in IELTS
Writing: 5.0 Band
Reading: 4.5 Band
Speaking: 5.0 Band
Listening: 5.0 Band
overall 5.0 bands
what is my exact point as per above bands?

heyy..
ma scores are:
listening-8.5
speaking- 7.0
reading - 6.0
writing - 6.5
now i´d like to know what my chances are in getting into any of the top 100 universities and scholarship is mandatory without which its too difficult for me to study....i wish to apply to some good unversity in canada...can anyone help me out..please......:)

since when is language proficiency enough to qualify you for a top 100 university or scholarship?????????????
