Subject: How will I know if Ottawa already received Medical
  1. Is there a way you can check via e-mail or phone if Ottawa already received our medicals (I didn´t subscribe to any CAIPS notes services to check this)?

2. What is the time frame from Ottawa to forward the medical results to the Canadian embassy you have applied?

3. After medicals, how long will you have to wait for your PPR?

4. Is there still a possibility that your application will be rejected/denied even if you & your family had undergone the medicals? If so, what are the grounds for the rejection other than medical findings/issues?

Thanks in advance for those who have time to answer all my queries.

Answers to my knowledge (in reply to: How will I know if Ottawa already received Medical)
Hi Rex here are answers to your questions. This it to the best of my knowledge.

1. Is there a way you can check via e-mail or phone if Ottawa already received our medicals (I didn?t subscribe to any CAIPS notes services to check this)CONTACT YOUR DOCTORS OFFICE TO GET TRACKING NUMBER IF THEY SENT RECORDS TO OTTAWA.

2. What is the time frame from Ottawa to forward the medical results to the Canadian embassy you have applied? APPROX 2 MONTHS

3. After medicals, how long will you have to wait for your PPR? APPROX 3 MONTHS

4. Is there still a possibility that your application will be rejected/denied even if you & your family had undergone the medicals? If so, what are the grounds for the rejection other than medical findings/issues? AS FAR AS I KNOW IF MEDICALS WERE CLEAN AND ALL OTHER DOCUMENTS ARE SUBMITTED THERE IS NO WAY THAT THEY CAN REJECT YOU.

Sam,

Thanks a lot for the info.

On item # 1, my DMP does not have any tracking number or confirmation receipt because he just mails it to the post office as a regular/ordinary mail. According to him, he did not have any incident that all the medical docs he mailed were not delivered. Hence, to have a peace of mind - I would like to contact Ottawa (either by e-mail or phone) to get their confirmation that they received my medical docs. By the way, my medicals were mailed here in New York on March 3, 2006.

Regards.

I think after medicals and RPRF fees, the security check will follow and then the background check. If they find something wrong, they will outright refuse you or call you for an interview (even if they waived it at first)

An excerpt from another website---

All potential immigrants to Canada must also undergo a background clearance to weed out those who have been or are involved in espionage, subversion or terrorism. This is to ensure that the safety and order of Canadian society are maintained and protected. Such security screening decisions are made based on information from every available source, which is then carefully weighed to determine whether an applicant is likely to threaten the internal security of Canada. When there is an indication of security concerns an interview will be scheduled to discuss these findings with the applicant. Anyone who poses such a threat must necessarily be prevented from entering Canada.

Please note that there is a clear distinction between the police clearance certificate, which the applicant is required to obtain, and the background clearance, in which the applicant for the most part is not actively involved.

Nobody knows how background checks are really done since it is really designed not to be actually known to common people, get it? But this is the stage where they actually confirm data in your application forms and documents. A good example of this is "J" on the other thread.
