Subject: Olga and others - Got PPR today!
  Hi Olga and other guys,

I got my PPR today.!!!!..a big envelope (postmarked on Mar 10) and a small grey envelope inside (for sending passport). PPR does not mention port of entry! So where should I go to cross the border? US border in AB is the nearest place for me to cross the border. Will it be okay??

I am in-canad applicant (student)
App: Oct 2004
IA: Onc 2005
Med sent: Dec 2005
PPR: Mar 10 2006

Thanks in advance for your suggestions! This forum favors a lot!!!

To Sandeep,

I would kindly ask for your advice please...
Hi I am in the same situation as you are.
I am a MSc student in Canada, work as a research assistant, have 19 months industrial working experience.
When I took online assesment test, I passed it barely by claiming high proficiency in English and basic in French.
I completed two courses in French private colleagues in Montreal.
My concerns are as follows...

1) What is your background (working exp., are you undergrad or grad student, work as research assistant..)?

2) Did you take IELTS? If not, what kind of supporting documents did you submit?

3) Did CIC ask to send them the proof that you graduated?

4) Any additional information is welcome...

Hey Boy,

1.I am still Graduate student and in Canada. I am working as a research assisitant from last 3 yrs and based on that I applied in 2004 (that time I had only 1 yr exp).

I got opportunity to work on POST GRADUATE work permit in 2005 and I added this exp to my file.

2. I did not appear for IELTS. I submitted a copy of research article which was published on my name in one of the Ottawa International confs. I think that was sufficient to prove my eng prof.

3. CIC has not yet asked my degree cert.

4. As per my knowledge, they consider GRA exp as a full time...thats why my application was considered and proccessed. I did not have any work exp from my country.

5.I am doin my second Master´s degree. If its ur first MSc I would suggest dont apply until u finish Msc. Cauz u wont be able to qualify for assessment.

I hope this helps.

Hi Sandeep,
Why won´t Boy get enough points if he´s only doing his first master´s? If he already has his master´s, 1 year work experience, the minimum fund, then he should pass. Right? Just confused as to why you think he won´t pass. Would be great if you could explain it. Thanks.

Hey Joy,

What I told him that if this is his first master´s, then he wont get full 25 points..right? Again his work experience is not for TWO FULL years! So it will be counted as only a year. If this is his first year as a GRA, he again wont get any point for it!!

Whatever he says indicates that he is still doing his Masters and working as GRA. He will barely get 67 points.
Please open a new thread if u still want to discuss this.

I appreciate your views on my say.
