Subject: when to land??
I got my ppr letter last week. Now I am sending my passport for visa. I heard that I have one year to land from the date of my medical exam. My question is : I did my medical on March 2005, it will pass one year after I get my Visa.. Can somebody explain this to me?

By the way, will the photoes have to be signed by the photographer?

I applied in New York in June 2004, got medical done in March, 2005.

I does not have to be one year after medical, your last date you could land in Canada willbe the date your visa expired.
I was in the position like yours and they actually extend automatically for the expiration date of the medical if yours close to or already passed when your visa is finalized.
So basically you just have too wait until you get your passport back and there will be a letter accompany with it and you can see it in that letter when the last date you could land.

Regards
Eric

PS: Photo usually have to be stamped by the place you took the photo it does not have to be signed by the photographer

Hiya Liz,

You have to enter Canada:
a. either before the expire date of your medicals (if it was done March 2005 then March 2006 is the last day)
b. before the expire date of your passaport (whichever comes first- medicals or passaports

BUT since you have just sent your passaport most probably they have given you or will give some extra time to enable you to pack your luggage etc...

Better wait for your passaport and read the Visa dates carefully, (for example my medicals were done on 29 November 2005 so I have the visa expire date as 29 November 2006 ..... in my passaport and i will land in October)

hope the information above is useful ...

By the way, The photograhper who took picture for us does not have stamp. Do we have to do sth with it?
