Hi there,
1) One of my friends has got passport request from Buffalo, he was a student in Canada when he applied and went back to India and as he has gotten his PPR he wants to mail the passport to Buffalo, is it advisable to do so? If he does that what are the consequences? In what way is it illegal?
2) As I really don´t think it proves a point, can he contact the nearest Consulate in Delhi and show about the PPR from Buffalo and get it stamped there?
Thanks for the reply.

(in reply to: Mailing passport to Buffalo from India) Hi,
You can send your passports by fedex. No need to mention that you are sending the passports. Send it to a friend in the US. He/she can mail it to Buffalo, get the visa stamp and mail back the passports by fedex back to India.
Make sure you put passports along with some other documents and don´t mention that you are sending passports. These companies create an unnecessary ruckus about it.
Hope that helps.

(in reply to: Mailing passport to Buffalo from India) (in reply to: Mailing passport to Buffalo from India) Passport Act says that:
Passports should not be sent out of the country of residence by post.
I would strongly advise not to send the Passport out of the country. It is illegal. You can contact local canadian consulate office.
