Subject: Permanent resident visa
I have the following questions:

Is the permanent Resident visa and Citizenship one and the same?

I work for the government. Will CIC inform my government that I have applied for P.R Visa?

If I submit a work erification certificate ill it suffice?

No. When the immigration application of an applicant is approved he/she become permanent resident(PR). After landing in Canada as a PR you will have to stay for 3 years(Not very sure) to apply for Canadian citizenship.

They may call up your work place to verify if you really work there.

You should provide detailed information about the kind of work you do, what are your responsibilities etc. If you can´t get such a letter from your boss get it from your co-workers. Also provide tax returns, pay stubs and any document that can support your application.
