Timeline (in reply to: Skill worker immigration processing time @buffalo)
From Begin - End : 15 - 18 Months (May be more if interview is required).

If you are serious and want it in 2 years go through Para-Legal; chances are your application is filed correctly and may secure a interview waiver

thanks, could you clarify Para-legal (in reply to: Skill worker immigration processing time @buffalo)
I am not sure what Para-legal means. Do you mean to find an agency instead of a lawyer?

Thanks.

I believe he means hiring a Lawyer. But let me tell you that hiring a lawyer does not mean that you will get interview waiver - at least it did not happen with me.

Para-Legal are lawyer like; not lawers. However, they are as good and are registered to represent someone seeking immigration. Since; immigration is a "privlage" and not a "right"; there is no reason for a lwayer as you cannot fight your way in. Lawyers are best suited if you are in Canada and want immigration unders extreme circumstances. Para-Legal are therefore cheaper to higher and since they conduct these applications daily are more conversant at how best to file yours and determine your chances. If you search most offer a money back gaurantee if they accept your case less some admin fee should your case get rejected. In most cases they will tell you if interview should be wavied. The one case listed here is part of QA program the CIC conducts; this person may be one of the unlucky ones.

If you search for term "Para-Legal" + "CIC" + " Canada" + "Immigration", you should get a listing.

Your cost of hire should be 1200-1500 max; as any business you can negotiate the terms as there is a good competition (i.e. terms of payment and how much you want to pay).

Best of Luck

I am currently residing in canada with visitor visa, and with help of a lawyer, I applied for canadian permanant residence under the skill worker program last year, exactly Sept 28, 2004 to the Buffalo, NY consulate. I got response from the consulate that i most likely eligible for interview waiver and had my medical done. If you kindly enough to let me know, when i will be getting permanant residence visa? I really appreciated.
thank you
