Hello do they carry background checks only after receving medicals or immediately after issuing IA? any response will be greatly appreciated. I am in canada applicant.

as far as I know, they initiate it after your IA. The duration really depends on your origin, countries you visited, etc. I guess there is no a specific time frame that we can talk about.
