Subject: Re-entry to US on H1B
My H1B expires on May 14, 2006. I am planning to land in Canada next week. I would like to re-enter US. Could somebody share their experience with re-enterng US as an H1B? Specifically, I am wondering what documents I need to bring to the border. So far I have:

I-94 (original), both right and left copies.
Form I 797A, H1B approval notice (copy).
Couple recent paycheck stubs.

What else should I bring? Any tips are appreciated.

Do you have valid stamped visa in your passport?

No (in reply to: Re-entry to US on H1B)
I have my old F1 visa in my old passport. I have never left US after changing my status from F1 to H1.

You can re-enter US as long as it is with 30-day period.
I would suggest you carry your original H1b approval.

Thanks,
Brian

You need to confirm whether F1 visa stamping OK??? Once you changed the status from F1 to H1, whether your F1 visa stamping is valid?

Once you change your visa status the old status becomes invalid. They will see which one is your latest status.
If you enter on F1 stamped visa then your new H1 visa becomes invalid. If you are in the same status then you can enter with your old visa and show them your new approval notice and I-94.
