| Subject: question about landing by car |

I have question about landing with car. We want to go to Vancouver in summer time but we don´t have car yet. We want to buy soon but we are not sure how is going to look with the insurance, crossing border with new one, etc. How can I get an information about that?
If you know something about it, where should I go or contact , let me know.

it is really good idea to buy and crossing border by car, in British Columbia there is one insurance company, about the exact quote you will need get information after landing in BC.The quote depends what kind of car, year, how old are you, aow long you got driver licence etc, also after landing you will have to make inspection for cars out of province, costs just inspection is about 100$ but if they find something what you will have to fix or reploace the costs can be higher-before decision check some other places which offer inspection!!!After passed inspection you can register your car!!!The rest information tomorrow!!!!Bye

Cars are much cheaper in the US. I believe the customs requirement is that the car be purchased, registered and used in another country before coming to Canada to avoid the duty. I do not beleive that there is a specific time limit.
US insurers generally cover the car while it is in Canada, until you register and insure in Canada. Be sure to ask the insurance company for a piece of paper that shows you are covered in Canada.
