  hi every one
i have just started thinking of immigration of canada

the check list of the application form of immigration says "you have enclosed the original police certifictes"

but when enquiring to get the police certificates of singapore ,we were asked to show the proof that we need pcc for the immigration purpose.

my question is should i first apply for immigration or should i first get the pcc of all countries resided and then apply for immigration

thanks for ur advice

I know for sponsorship applications, you must include the police certificates with your application and therefore need to apply for them before applying for immigration.

I can´t speak for business and skilled-worker applications, but I know that for sponsorship applications - there is a sort of form letter/form that say to use when requesting police certificates. This letter can be used so you can apply for and recieve your police certificates before you apply for immigration so that you may include them with you application.

The top part is a a note that says:

"Dear Sir or Madam,

This is in reference to your application for permanent residence for Canada.

The government of Canada requires that you obtain an original police certificate of "no criminal activity/conviction" from the police authorities in the countries where you have lived.

This letter identifies you, and your family members, if applicable, as a person who is making an application for immigration to Canada. Please present this letter to the police authorities when you request your police certificate. Where possible the police authorities should return the police certificate to you, the applicant."

It´s on a letter head for Citizenship and Immigration and is addressed from visa office responsible for processing the your application. And it also has a form on the bottom for you to fill out to request the police certificate. I suggest that you check in the application pamphet, if there isn´t on in the actual application pamphet - call the embassy/consulate responsible for your country and ask them if they can send you a letter stating why you need the police certificate.

In order to try and find the right information/website I need to know two things:

1) What class are you looking at applying under (Family, Business, Skilled Worker, etc.)?

2) What visa office would you be applying through?

Once you let me know this I can try to find something for you.

Okay...I think I found the info you need.

Click on this link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applications/skilled-mission.html

Then click on Paris, France. This will download a PDF document that contains the specific information for the Paris visa office. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view this document.

Appendix A is a Checklist of all the items and forms you´ll need to submit with your application.

Appendix B is "Obtaining Police Certificates and Clearances". This section includes a letter that you can take with you to help get fingerprints taken as well as the letter and form I was talking about.

Appendix C is instructions for photo specifications.

Appendix D is medical instructions.

I would highly reccommend printing this document. It´s a good supplement to the Guide Book that´s included with the permanent residence application.
