I´m an Australian, and my fianc? is from Canada. We wish to live together in Canada. Which route would be the most efficient in facilitating my stay? Should we marry before I apply as an immigrant? Does it matter which country we marry in? Thank you in advance for any information. Many phonecalls and site searching has left us weary.

(in reply to: From Australia to Canada) I would recommend an out of Canada application. seems like processing time is really quick for Australia. Inland applications are taking forever. Do not bother with a conjugal application - I have noticed that many are being turned down when there is no real impediment to marriage. Common law applications require cohabitation of 1 year. I know, this is supposed to be about love... not immigration but what can we do!
It does not appear to matter what country you marry in - but insure that you well document any parties, ceremonies, and other verifications of your relationship.
