Subject: e-client question
  Hi all,

You guys have been so comforting over the last couple of weeks...I just found out about this website a couple of weeks ago even though we applied 3 months ago for my husband to come here from India. Makes things feel less lonely - so thank you for being here.

Okay, my question is if anyone gets any other information on their e-client other than, "We started processing the application on..." That´s all that´s been on there for the longest time. Passport has been sent in and other information CIC required as well. I hope that everything has been recieved.

It´s almost more frustration to go to e-client when it´s just the one line. Your comments?

Also, just thought of something...does anyone know what is involved in the background check? I´m just curious as to how the CIC gets their information, etc.

Dear Wondering,

For your information, they began processing my wife´s file at the beginning of September. They requested other documents, and the passport. We went to the embassy to give the documents ourselves, but still there is no more information on eclient than the usual "we started processing..." It seems that they don´t have enough time to change the eclient information.

As far as the background check, I don´t know.

So let us keep hoping. Good luck.

Thanks Less-Worried Husband,

My husband also received his passport request with other information (they wanted his height and colour of eyes actually plus 2 more little pictures) in the middle of September and although Indiapost sent me a confirmation that the documents reached their destination on September 20, we´ve heard nothing further.

It´s so hard to be apart for so long but I pray that CIC realizes that people´s lives are totally on hold in these cases and that they are doing their best. Please keep me posted on any new progress.

Where is your wife immigrating from?

My wife is from China. Since they asked for the passport, I suppose that our case, and your case, are pretty simple and that we will be reunited soon.

I´ll keep you informed. And please, could do the same?

Absolutely, I will let you know if there are any updates on this end.

By the way, I called Immigration last week to find out why they would have wanted my husband´s passport other than for a visa stamp and the agent said that she couldn´t see any other reason. I asked her if could it be for additional background checking and she said the passport wouldn´t be necessary for that because they already have a photocopy of my husband´s passport with the application. Just thought I would give you that little tid bit because I just thought of it.

Keep your chin up as will I!

I think this e-client system is junk, allways it shows ´case is under processing´.Don´t depend on it.In my case i got a passport request, still e-client status is showing ´case is under processing´.
If want to know ur case status, send a fax request to CIC regional center.

Vijay, did you send a fax request for Status to New Delhi by chance? If so, did they give you information quickly, slowly, never? Please tell us your experience. Also, are you coming in as a spouse?
