Subject: Should I be expecting a letter?
Since March 27th, my eclient status is indicating that my interview is scheduled for May 4. Should I be expecting a letter of instruction from the visa office? Do they generally request additional information to be brought to the interview? What documents should I take? What should I expect at the interview? Is approval or refusal given the same day? This is a spousal application through Kingston Jamaica visa office. Is it necessary or required for the Canadian spouse to be at the interview?
Thanks for all imput...Lonelyone

Hi Lonelyone,

Are you the sponsor or the applicant.

You will receive a letter and instructions about the interview, you may also try calling the office and ask them to prepare one for you to pick-up. It might just take too long to arrive and give you little time to prepare.

It´s not necessary for the spouse/sponsor to attend the interview, if time permits both of you should attend the interview. If you are signed up at immigration.ca you can sign up on that site. There are a lot more family sponsorship information there and a list a question available online (see second url below)

Approval or refusal will not be given the same day, they will send you a letter for refusal or call you to drop off your passport once you have passed the interview.

You should also take you passport with you just in case they request it.

In addition I would say that you should start sending Kingston any additional proof that you have about your relationship.

Lone, order CAIPS so you can get an idea why did they ask you for an interview, did you get an interview waiver before and then they changed their minds?
