Does anyone know when they do the background checks in Singapore? Is it before medical or after medical? Can Singapore applicants please share your timelines? Here is mine.
Applied: Dec 10,2004
Initial Assessment?: Dec 16,2005
I am a student in Canada. I wanted to transfer my file to Buffalo but they refused to do that. Instead they said that they will assess my application on a priority basis. They wrote to me saying that I passed their initial evaluation and the next step of my application is doing medical/finacial/Security/background checks which should happen in 2006/2007. My question is.. are they doing my background check at the moment or they are simply put me on a queue to issue medical docs...If its the later then that means I will probably have to wait another 1.5 yrs after the medical docs are issued for background checking...If this is the fast track processing in Singapore which might take more than 3 yrs..I am wondering what the normal processing time is(well according to the website its almost 5 yrs!)...I would really appreciate if Singapore applicants give me your timelines after IA so that I know when they perform the background checking..

Sorry, I can´t help you specifically. I just got my IA in Mar 06 even though I applied in Oct 03. Looks like you were already fast-tracked since you applied only in Dec ´04 and got IA within one year. How did you do that?
