Subject: I need help, please its urgent
I am new immigrant (3 months) to Canada and presently live in Toronto. Actually my dad died a month ago and my mom is living alone back home. I want her to join me in toronto. Could somebody tell me what is the procedure i have to follow to to get the fastest immigrant visa. And what are the documents i need to fill up and where to submitt. She lives in Pakistan. Thank you so much in advance.

you can sponsor your mom. the application takes some time, but eventually they will most probably approve it.

I think you can also bring your mother to Toronto on tourist visa and then apply for her immigration in Canada

unfortunately, there is nothing at CIC that can respond to urgent. I think you should think with the following information in mind...
1) if you cannot show strong reasons why your mother will not return to Pakistan at the end of her visit... they will not give her a visa. visitors visas are not designed to help people wait for immigration and CIC is very cautious about this.
2) you will have to show that you can support your mother in your application. 3 months may not be adequate time to prove your income.
3) family sponsorship (other than spouse) is not the highest priority for CIC. There are huge problems in our medical system so they are reluctant to add to it by allowing parents in to the country who have never financially contributed to the system. to add to the problem... the number of applications for parental/family sponsorship increases every year - therefore the waiting list increases. In all honesty, you could be waiting 2 year- maybe more.
4)You need to think about some short term solutions in addition to your efforts to have your mother join you. it might mean sending money home and requesting relatives to help you with her care.
5)there are too many similar stories for CIC to make a special consideration in your case.
6) the worst option... but it is still an option, is for you to return home. Everyone has aging parents and I am sure you must have given thought to this reality when you applied to come to Canada.

I have aging parents as well and it causes me to make decisions every day that I do not always like - so I empathize with your situation.

I have read my #1 answer and see it is confusing.

your mother must convince CIC she will return to Pakistan at the end of her visit. Things such as a house, a job, money in the bank, other children etc. If she cannot do this, CIC will be reluctant to trust her and your intentions to come for a visit.

there is another way Khandude, you can apply your mother as a caregiver but she has to have certified training (min 6 months) and she must also be qualified in terms of age, health, etc. The bad part is she has to work in Canada and someone must be willing to sponsor her. I heard a lot of rich peeps in Canada hire caregivers for the elders, children and even dogs. I´m not sure of the details but you can inquire about live-in caregiver programs and I´m sure its much faster than FSW applications.

what about applying a visist visa for her, and if she gets it, i can apply for her immigration when she is in canada already. How long does it take if she is in Canada and we apply for her immigration as in canada applicant. Thanks every one for your kind responses.

you cannot sponsor your mother from within the country.
