Hi Ms. Sharon, you said in another thread "our internal verification procedures" does this mean you are affiliated with CIC, a Visa Office or Campbell Cohen Law Firm?

I´d just like to clarify if you have any idea on the exact chronology of BDEC-background check, SDEC-Security check, CDEC-Criminality check, OREQ-other requirements and MEDDEC-Medical check? Does this depend on the embassy location? Can they do these simultaneously?

I just had my IA letter, interview waived, dated Feb. 9. I completed all the final docs, RPRF and meds Mar. 6. Any idea how long until PPR? Do you have any idea how is this carried aout if in case I lived in multiple countries (at least 8)? I hope you can reply Ma´am , even if you say "you don´t know" because my case is somewhat unusual.

Hey boloxis (the pain in the ass in most forums with double identity) ..Let me help you (this is the rotten Turkey)...

a.If you are originally from the middle east, you might have to wait at least 8 months after completing your medicals, ...
b. This process above might take longer or shorter depending on the countries you have been to, if you have been to Afganistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Pakistan I can guaranty you this might even take longer, if not there is no need to worry...
c. In short the background check depends on the applicant´s origin of country, the location of the countries s/he has been to, and the reason why s/he has been to those countries ...

Wish you good luck and please stick to only one ID...

"In short the background check depends on the applicant?s origin of country"...

Do you mean the ´extent´ of the background check that CSIS/CIC will perform (I thought it was one standard procedure regardless of country?), or do you mean that the amount of time to complete the check varies country to country?

Thanks.

Hello Mr. Turkishman aka themanfromsomewhere aka anonymous now. Thank you for your info contribution and I appreciate your little retaliation to my previous reprovals towards your discourteous behaviour although I cannot fathom myself skulking behind a disguise to mislead or ridicule others, unlike some people I see here. I have enough dignity and courage for something as juvenile as that. And I assure you, if I want to insult the hell out of somebody, I can do it face to face.

I feel you have a slight misconception about my nationality, I work for Intel Worldwide Components Center, as in "THE" chip giant. I´ve lived my entire career life in East, SE Asia and North America qualifying our subcontractors of semiconductor ICs. I´m half Taiwanese, half Spanish, full Catholic in my late 20´s. I have been in Dubai as a tourist twice for their annual shopping festival, a very beautiful city, but I never lived in any middle eastern country. I´m actually tired of continuously adjusting to different countries so I want to have a more permanent life besides work like staying put in a single progressive country (besides the US) and get married.

Cheri, so do you mean to say they will do background check only in my country of origin? Are you sure of this? I am more concerned if they have to do a lot of checks in all the countries I´ve lived on and that´s a lot and I´m sure that will have to take a lot of time. My AOR to IA timeline followed the local embassy though.

if u have lived more than 6 months in any part of the world, then u will be required to submitt a Police Clearance from those countries and Thats it. Dont get fooled by these people as a "background Check" That Police Clearance is your background check and thats it......This is my personal experience, beleive me......

We lived only in one country (have no criminal records),
but background checking took 1.5 years. time frame seems also depends not only on the number of countries one lived in, but also on the coorerativity of offices, to which the requests were sent.

Hey Boloxis do not worry I never said I assume you are from somewhere .... I just wanted to say if you are from the middle east that might take a long time...

You do not have to prove who you are, what your skills are...nobody need that ...Keep your private life private... You do not have to insult anybody... just behave yourself... By the way, better we never come across each other, I really fart a lot and that stings... I am a good man, do not wanna abuse anyone else with my farts....

By the way what does ´aka´ mean? Is it something Chinese ? Indian ?

Remember what I told you, you have to wait at least 8 months or more, so wait for September 2006, and when you get your PRR in September you will say ´ shit this rotten turkey knows too much...´´

Good luck Bolo ...have fun ..

Glad to see everyone in fighting form this morning.

No, I do not work for CIC. Just been around this process far too long.

from all my research and information obtained from various people who have already completed the process this is how I understand it (I stand to be corrected)...

the final background checks that occur at the end of the immigration process (please do not confuse with police clearances you supplied in your original application) are conducted independantly by CIC and I believe the RCMP. They will check with any country where you lived more that 6 months for things you may or may have not included in your application. They may even double check your education records. Whatever they need to do to satisfy themselves that everything is in order.

This process requires a certain amount of cooperation from entities that CIC cannot control - foreign governments. So depending on how many countries they must deal with and how helpful they are will directly impact how long this process takes.

While this is generally factored into processing times, it is also a bit of a crap shoot when it comes to pinpointing how long it will take in each individual case.

as our mystery friend has mentioned, I feel bad for those coming out of the middle east at the moment. Between extra caution being exercised and goverments in disarray - the process seems to be taking a painfully long time.

Thank you Ms. Sharon, I guess I´ll just have to wait it out, sorry about the fuss.

Turkishman, thanks for your piece of mind and I just hope I can literally hold that now.
aka is not chinese nor indian, its an English abbreviation of "also know as" and is primarily used by police to specify an alias but is often used figuratively by everybody else.
