  Hello:
Congratulations on your landing. I have a specific question for you. When you left the USA border , did US immigration stopped you? If yes, what did they ask?
And if you have any experience please share if US officials check papers when someone drives from US side to the Canada side?
Thank you.

I travelled through Detroit Windsor tunnel. All I had to do was pay the toll($2.50) and drive through the tunnel to reach the canadian side. There is no US immigration check post or booth to see your passport or papers. Therefore the first immigration officer you will meet will be the canadian officer after driving through the tunnel.
US immigration officers are not concerned by who is leaving the country :) They are only interested in who is entering the country, hence when you drive back you need to keep your passport/I94 and H1B approvals handy.
Good Luck
