| Subject: Settlement Funds on Landing in Canada??? |

Are you required to show the necessary settlement funds when landing in Canada? Say, a family of 5 is required to have settlement funds of CAD 21,431 - must I bring this exact or greater than this amount (whether in check or cash) during my landing in Canada? What would happen if the amount you brought when landing in Canada is less than the settlement funds?
Your clarification on this matter will be highly appreciated.

I showed a US bank statement, they had no problem with that.

However, this does not answer my questions esp., the last one, i.e., "What would happen if the amount you brought when landing in Canada is less than the settlement funds?". Is it going to be a problem if this is the case?

you run a risk of not being allowed to land.
